Diaphragm
A diaphragm is a reusable, flexible cup that you put in the vagina before sex. It works by stopping sperm reaching the womb. And it’s used with spermicide gel which kills sperm.
Where to get the diaphragm
You can get the diaphragm and spermicide gel from a pharmacy or a sexual health clinic.
About the diaphragm

The diaphragm does not use hormones.
Frequency
Insert one before sex and leave in place for at least 6 hours after.
Effectiveness
94% effective if used correctly every time.
STI protection
No STI protection
Periods
Does not affect your periods.
